About Dr. Scott

Dr. Scott Kalniz has over 20 years of dental industry experience. He started his career as

a practicing dentist with a single location. He then purchased a number of other dental

practices, eventually selling his large dental group to a Dental Support Organization

(DSO). He joined the DSO as director of development, sourcing a number of dental

practice affiliations, and helping build it to over 50 locations. Dr. Kalniz then partnered

with a private equity firm, as CEO and Chief Dental Officer, to create a new DSO. In

under 5 years, it grew to over 110 locations in 12 states. He has also served, and currently

serves, as a Director on several PE-backed company boards. 

Dr. Kalniz holds a DDS and a BS in Business Administration, Economics from The Ohio

State University.

About Monique

As a seasoned Dental Industry Specialist, Monique Kramer has spent over two decades working with individuals

and companies Nationally within the Dental Industry. She brings high energy and a unique approach to

relationships and networking and understanding the impact of technology, she creates innovative ideas. Monique

facilitates C-Suites partnership strategies to help her clients reach their corporate initiatives. Some of her DSO’s

have included large corporations like SmileBrands and Pacific Dental Services. She also specializes in working

with small startups to mid-size Dental Service Organizations to improve ROI’s. Monique ensures each

partnership is structured and solutions are backed by years of experience, Dental Industry Training, and current

trends.

Monique’s journey began in her parent’s dental lab as a Business Manager in the Pacific Northwest. She co-

owned a Dental Lab with 25 employees, she then went on in her career to specialize in Operations and National

Sales positions in one of the largest National Dental Labs in the country. Currently Monique serves as a Strategic

Account Manager in the implant space working in large to mid-cap DSO companies. Her diverse experience

along with her in depth knowledge of DSO’s has elevated her ability to create innovative strategies both

internally and externally. Strategies for DSO Groups include Digital Strategies (Scanning, 3d Printing),

Product/Patient Education (CE), Marketing Platforms for Revenue Generation, and key financial business

metrics. Drawing on 24 years of vendor networking and supply chain management and Dental industry

knowledge, Monique continues to create business partner relationships that are mutually impactful and sustainable.

About Melissa 

Melissa began her career in dentistry over 20 years ago with aspirations to become a dental hygienist. After learning from some amazing private practice dentists, she realized her passion was on the business side of dentistry. Melissa joined DentalOne Partners in 2004 and spent 15 years helping the organization grow in various Operational roles. Melissa's last few years were in the Chief Operating Officer role for the West Region, where she supported the non branded segment of the company in Texas, Colorado and Arizona.

Melissa joined Jarvis Analytics in January of 2020 as COO and enjoys helping growing DSOs and dental groups discover improved performance through metrics and data. Jarvis Analytics is the fastest growing analytics platform for smart DSOs, and is based out of Dallas, Texas.

Melissa is passionate about leadership and "paying forward" the growth and development she was a recipient of in her career. When she is not spending time on Jarvis, Melissa stays busy with her husband and the activities of her three children.

Gemma has successfully accomplished 20 years in the Sales and Marketing Industry within the business and hospitality sector, in both the United Kingdom and United States, for companies ranging from 5* hotels to leading restaurants and healthcare facilities.

She has consistently met and exceeded my quota throughout her career. Within the last 5 years, she has won numerous internal annual awards, nominated for the Annual Athena Awards 2017 for helping other women reach their leadership potential, accomplishing success in business, and contributions to the community. Finally, Gemma was nominated as Woman of Influence for the Colorado Springs Business Journal.

Within her time serving the Colorado community, she also became an Ambassador at the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce & EDC and a Foundation Board Member with the Southern Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce.

About Dr. Joshua:

Joshua Austin, DDS, FAGD, FACD, is a native San Antonian. After attending San Antonio's Health Careers High School and the University of Texas, San Antonio as an undergrad student, Dr. Austin graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School.

Dr. Austin is a published author and lectures nationally on restorative dentistry and reputation management. He has a monthly column and weekly e-Newletter in Dental Economics, the most read dental magazine in the world. In the past, Dr. Austin has served as a faculty member in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at UTHSCSA Dental School. Dr. Austin has received several awards during his dental career. In 2009, the Texas Dental Association honored Dr. Austin by naming him Young Dentist of the Year. In 2010, the Texas Academy of General Dentistry named him New Dentist of the Year, the most prestigious award it gives for dentists who have graduated in the previous 7 years. Dr. Austin has earned a Fellowship and Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Beginning in 2014, Dr. Austin has been named a Super Dentist in Texas Monthly Magazine.
