Welcome to Majors & Minors at Cal Poly Humboldt!

This show takes a close look at the rich academic offerings of our campus and all of the areas of study that can be pursued as a student. Each episode features an interview with a department Chair or a Professor and focuses on the specifics of an area of study, specifically the value of that pursuit both during the college experience and beyond. 

This week ⁠Ara Pachmayer⁠, Chair of the School of Applied Health, joins the show.  The school’s diverse programs of Kinesiology, Nursing and Recreation Administration all embrace a foundation of critical thinking and community engagement, with a shared goal of encouraging healthier living. So much of their curriculum is tied into where we live along the North Coast and Ara also shared all about her own experience as a lifelong traveler, a student studying tourism and the classes she teaches.
