Amanda and Darion D'Anjou speaks with Jesse Atlas, director of – Jury Award winner for Best Sci-fi Short at Atlanta Sci-fi Film Festival.  It also screened at the 2018 Tribeca film festival! Here’s what we covered: Jesse revealed plans for a feature version of ! He explains how he found such great talented actors for this film -  who plays Alexa and Mustafa Shakir plays Marco (and Bushmaster in ). And veteran actor,  - the Weathered man (and in  as the Mariposa Bartender)! Discuss how he and his writing partner of (), came up with the story idea. His transition from theater writing to film. Simple techniques used to create sci-fi tech on a budget Jesse discuss transitioning from writing for theater to film. Shares valuable lessons he learned on the importance of empowering your filmmaking team on a project.

In the second half of our interview with, - director of , Jessica asks the following questions: ‍ 1. How much research went into your representation of the Tibetan monks? 2. With some adaptations of novels and short stories, there is immense pressure to make sure you do the original work, and the original author justice.  Did you feel any of that with this short film?  If so, was it more focused on the author or the short story? Festival goer, Pooja who saw the film, actually been to Tibet and met the monks.  She found some of the representation in this short film to be inaccurate.  But after reading the short story, the film was definitely better than the short story with respect to the way the monks are portrayed.

We are SO excited to be interviewing, - director of , which was chosen at our 2018 Atlanta Sci-fi Film Festival. This was one of the most visually stunning and well acted films in the festival!  Here's some questions we were burning to ask in this 2 part episode. ‍ 1. Did you shoot this film on location in Tibet and were the actors real Monks?  If so, how did you get them to do this film?? 2. What was your budget for this film? 3. How did you find the great actors for this project? 4. I'm sure finding musicians and music for films can be a real challenge.  How did you find the people to score your short film?  I found a French version of the “. Is there an english version?   5. Why did you choose this particular short story?  Were you specifically looking to do an adaptation of an Arthur C. Clarke short story? If so why this one? 6. Very few things were cut from the original story, did you feel like this limited your ability to be creative and artistic with the adaptation?  And what made you choose those specific moments and lines of dialogue?
