The Twilight Zone creator, Rod Serling, submitted many twisted tales to populate our unsuspecting televisions sets. These stories impacted audiences so much, we’re still talking about that unique pop cultural milestone over 60 years later. No matter who you are or how much you’ve watched - or even if you haven’t - you know how powerful being caught in the seductive pull of Twilight Zone can be for a viewer.

Fair enough. But just why exactly is it so mesmerizing?

What would you do if you had a close encounter with an alien being?

Imagine encountering a craft which traveled from outside our planet and crash landed to Earth. Imagine holding hands with an alien. Apparently, they are badly injured and communicating to you telepathically.

It’s all so strange. It’s like some unreal dream. Then imagine suddenly being taken into custody by shadowy ‘agents’ and essentially interrogated and threatened over your uniquely intense experience. They even threaten your life and your family.

Jonathan Weygandt doesn’t have to use his imagination. He says he’s actually been through it.

Weygandt’s amazing story is featured in UFO documentaries. He’s been filmed telling his tale and an incredible clip is available here on YouTube. C’mon. Let’s talk about real life alien visitation from a man who’s story is as credible as they come.

Eddie Steak really does hate oh so very much. Oh wait, my bad! I meant to say rate!

Does hate make you uncomfortable? Don’t be afraid. Don’t even be very afraid. When he does rate (hate) it’s entertaining, even compelling. Maybe you can simply call him a Rater and not a Hater. He rates instead of hates. Awww Feel better?

Yeah maybe calling it hate is a tad too extreme, but judging from stuff Eddie rails against, you’d not call him engaging in a love fest. If you hate s**t too - and who the hell doesn’t - you should start listening to his commentaries on YouTube. C’mon. Let’s talk the passionate love of a geek fueled hater who, in the end, should properly be called a RATER.

William Shatner made a lot of loot being a Starfleet Captain commanding the USS Enterprise. George Takei brought home mucho bucks playing Kirk’s helmsman, Sulu on the original Star Trek and throughout six feature films. Russian Ensign Chekov, played by Walter Koenig, scored some serious Rubles as starship navigator sitting next to Sulu. C’mon. Let’s talk the fanciful financial side of the Final Frontier.

In 1987, British novelty band, The Firm, released this catchy - though oh so irritating - tribute to the exploits of Captain Kirk, Spock Bones and the rest of the noble, even legendary Enterprise crew. C’mon. Let’s talk about one of the most famous Trek tribute songs of all time.

And so Captain Kirk (William Shatner) told us of his grand Starship’s mission in the opening narration of Gene Roddenberry’s classic space operatic sci-fi show, Star Trek, which warped onto TV screens on NBC in 1966.

Now, Paramount + - formerly CBS All Access - is launching a new Trek which will feature new characters mixed with classic ones from Kirk’s first romp around the galaxy. C’mon. Let’s talk new streaming Trek made from old broadcast Trek.
