Science Fiction Rating System

A new era of ranking begins, as we put our first film to the proper 2.0 test - join us for a bumper discussion of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom! We get into the rampant lack of logic on show throughout, ideas for better dino films, auction confusion, the most unlikeable cast in cinema, and much more!

Next week, 2018 season continues with Sorry to Bother You!

This week we conclude our introduction to the ground-breaking new Rating System 2.0 with six more rankings. Join us as we test the limits of the algorithm and get our TILT on.

And this week, the video worked entirely properly (ish), so join us on YouTube right here for uninterrupted footage of the three of us rating, ranking and going FULL TILT. There's even video clips and stuff playing a bit. Guaranteed ever so slightly less amateur-ish than last week.

Want more video? Not fussed? Let us know by commenting or emailing us or whatever. We may do more. We'll see.

Next week, it's back to ranking films, with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

New year, new us! We're back with a bang, starting 2023 with an entirely new list. Join us as we explain how the new science-based ranking system works and as we put the system into practice by ranking six films. It's an admin heavy week, but trust us, it will all be worth it.

And if that's not enough, this is also the first ever video version of the podcast! Predictably, it all went a bit wrong, but the episode is available to watch on YouTube, with our lovely faces and a list to gawp at in extreme amateur hour glory! Here's a link! Be warned, we really, really don't know what we're doing

Next week, a bunch more re-rankings to get the list up and running before we get back to normal!

It's the night before the night before Christmas, and as is tradition we finish the year with a jumbo-sized pod rating a slice of Star Wars - it's Revenge of the Sith! Join us as we discuss questionable motives, questionable CG, Backstroke of the West, the tragedy (?) of Darth Plagueis, the tragedy (!) of the younglings, and then we reach the end of an era...

Next week, it's our annual end of year wrap up episode!

This week we watch Junior, a film which is actually a checklist of bad scientific practice. Join us as we discuss questionable ethics, Schwarzenegger's career slump, bad CG, the US box office for the Thanksgiving weekend 1994, and a Head of Department with the worst plan of all time.

Next week, we return to a galaxy far, far away for our annual festive Star Wars rating - it's Revenge of the Sith!

This week, we watch Richard Kelly's follow-up to list darling Donnie Darko, it's Southland Tales! Go and watch it and then come back. Confused? Fair enough.

Join us as we all struggle to explain what the hell is going, get the film wrong, the bible wrong, and generally just blow our minds, and then Sam talks about the comic prequel and everything gets even more confusing. Also, there's impromptu reviews of Jumanji and River Cruise (??)

Next week, it's time for a bit of horror with Mimic!
