SciFi4Me: Live From the Bunker

The news dropped last Tuesday: Microsoft plans to acquire Activision/Blizzard in a massive deal reported to be nearly $70 billion. The surprise announcement comes while Activision is in the midst of all sorts of legal and PR woes, so what does this mean for both companies? What does this do to the gaming landscape, assuming regulatory agencies sign off on the deal? Attorney Richard Hoeg of Hoeg Law joins us again to discuss the latest. He's been covering the situation at Activision on his channel, and he has some insights on what may happen next.

Season two continues for SUPERMAN & LOIS, and this time we get a little better look at the thing which we've seen before in other tellings of the Superman tale. This is the FOURTH time we're going down this road, dipping into this well, digging into this mine.
It's time to retire Doomsday.

Over the weekend, we watched CAPRICORN ONE for the first time (catching up on the catch-up list...), and it's a little scary just how it holds up in the context of what's happening in the world today. A conspiracy involving a government agency and the media? Surely you jest...

Why are we so angry?Take a look around the online water cooler space, and there are a lot of people who are angry about ... well, just about everything. Politics, health care, economics, wealth, movies, television, Star Wars, comic books, Doctor Who... the list goes on and on. "Fans" are fighting "fans" on both sides, and some clearly don't understand what they're fighting about. Or do they? How much of this is performative? How much of this is just "let's put on a show" for the masses? And how much damage is it doing?

Today, we're talking about one of the best (if not THE best) military science fiction series currently in print: the Honorverse. With its roots in C.S. Forster's Horatio Hornblower series, David Weber's story of Honor Harrington is one of the most brilliantly crafted stories set in and around galactic conflict and war in space.
