USC wrapped up the first week of fall camp Saturday afternoon with a scrimmage inside the LA Coliseum, and SCoopTV was on location with their cameras turned off watching the action. What we captured visually allowed us to evaluate where the team stands with only three weeks until the season-opener and provide some feedback. With only two scrimmages afforded this year, the coaching staff needs to make sure they're making the correct evaluations; and that's what Marc and Josh attempt after attending the scrimmage.Some of the show's highlights include:How best to evaluate the Offensive line.Should experienced veterans be allowed to sit out a scrimmage, and does the timing make a difference?Who would be No. 2 on the depth chart at the backup QB position if the team played tomorrow?Which position groups are still a WIP?The defense showed why they're ahead of the offense thru the first week.Surprise-impact players from the scrimmage include a name you may have forgotten was even on the roster.How good is Korey Foreman?Plus a breakdown of every position group sans special teams. The PAC-12 officially opened her 2021 football season when new commissioner George Kliavkoff took the podium in front of a live studio audience. Tell everyone what he won, Don Pardot!! The topic of PAC-12 officiating came up, of course, and of course, the PAC-12 handled it poorly. They and head coach Clay Helton provided their insights into the upcoming season and its impact.

PRP No. 2 was front and center on this episode; We have some notes & observations that we talk about, including some insight into a private talk with USC head coach Clay Helton during today's practice session. There were multiple media groups in attendance, but USC Scoop was called in for the word.Another sign that the season is quickly approaching? Media Day will be on Tuesday next week, which means PRP No. 3, and the last one before fall camp will be next Wednesday. For Media Day, we got word today that Kedon Slovis and Drake London would represent the players.

To kick off this week’s episode, SCoopTV and the rest of the media were invited to attend Tuesday's Player Run Practice for the first time this summer. And although access was limited, we were able to grab some video and pics of the team for the first time since spring camp ended and Marc talks about a few of the items he learned and a couple of other notes of interest as the team prepares for fall camp.Once the serious portion of the show was over we decided to take a look at some of the off-season lists and polls that people put together. Let’s just say that whoever is making these lists, they need to think twice before publishing.

So with the campus visits paused until the end of the month, it appears that the Trojan staff's June efforts are still paying dividends with today's announcement that Texas Longhorn transfer Jake Smith will be joining USC's WR room.--Marc, Josh, and Brandon discuss the roster addition and what it means.
