In our battle scarred and broken world, it may be tempting to reach for violent solutions – and as he closes his letter to the Ephesians, Paul himself uses a very military metaphor. But as we’ve discovered in earlier chapters, the evil forces behind division and hatred won’t be defeated by weapons of war but by the gospel of God’s grace to all peoples – and the united and loving church that results from proclaiming it.
