Two of the coolest stories I ever got to write as a journalist were profiles of the outlaw country singer, and fellow Tyler, TX native, Paul Cauthen. The first one was for Cowboys & Indians Magazine and the second was for Texas Monthly.

Paul was in Chattanooga this past weekend and I went to his concert, which was amazing as always. That prompted me to go down memory lane to talk about my journalism career, these stories with Paul, and the importance of not putting too much value in one accomplishment.

Today we talk about perhaps the most important job of my life: the one where I met my wife. My college job as a houseboy (aka dishwasher) at the Pi Phi sorority house at the University of Oklahoma was full of fun, hijinks, and unlimited free meals. It also came with the perk of hanging out with a bunch of sorority girls.

I just got back from a weekend featuring at Louisville Comedy Club which was incredibly fun. The crowds were amazing and the state provided me with plenty of material for jokes. I also talk about my family's trip to Sugar Mountain, NC and then finish by discussing the tragic passing of my favorite musician Glen Hansard.

Last week I headlined Mic Drop Plano, back in Dallas-Fort Worth where I started comedy and lived for 12 years. It was such a fun experience so in this episode I talk about all that went into making the night so fun. And I also talk about my appearance on 105.3 The Fan and a cool experience my son and I had at the Braves vs. Rangers game.

My friends and I started an indoor soccer team when were were in our early 20s. It became so much more than just a soccer team. The Billy Ray Jeters was basically the most detailed, confusing, and intricate inside joke ever.

Eventually I made a documentary about the BRJs that we debuted at The Texas Theatre in Dallas.
