Window Pain by Scott Leopold
Who's that looking through my windowpane
Glowing eyes as dark as rain
In the Inky night I find my friend
My lonely heart you truly mend
Then you quickly vanish like the wind
My soul is sad and begins to bend
I lay awake and await your face
While you sneak away to midnights grace
Your hearts unstil in search of me
Then, though my window I you see
But when I approach, you run and hide
On sadness's wings my heart does glide
You have become my intrigue, my light
You are black and I am white
With you and I there is no grey
No time to wait another day
One of these night you'll come to stay
But what you'll find has gone away
Then your heart will sink in grief
And slowly rot just like fall's leaf
Then you'll come again to seek relief
And on my windowsill you'll sit in disbelief
What you see is the puzzle piece that makes you whole
But, empty is your bowl
Again, you run away
Fear and loneliness are here to stay
Oh how you enjoy the game
And how it drives me insane
But like a mouse I chase your love
While you fly off like a black cuckoo-dove
In the end when your whiskers grey
And you regret you stayed away
Like a soldiers last breath
What could have been will vanish in death
