Denominationalism.  - Center for the Study of Global Christianity shows more than 200 in U.S. and 45,000 globally. Paul doesn’t mince words when talking about saboteurs:  Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.  For such people are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. Romans 16:17-18 (NASB)  Baptism in Spirit is a Baptism in Unity.

Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and yet you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one must worship.”  Jesus said to her, “Believe Me, woman, that a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.  You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews.  But a time is coming, and even now has arrived, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.” Jesus said to her, “I am He, the One speaking to you.”

WHAT IS CHRISTIAN WORSHIP? Scripture Is Clear What Worship IS and ISN’T  God Is Worship - Worship is not a band or popular music. Worship is your posture before God. MARRIAGE Between what you see in VISIBLE realm and what God gives in the INVISIBLE realm – (2 Kings 6:17)  And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.  - Hebrew and Greek words for Worship = bow down before, kneeling or face down to pay reverence or make petition. - When the Bible repeats – it’s important. Worship is used 8,629 times.  - Still think it’s about music? What It Is: “To him be the glory forever. Amen. I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Romans 11:36–12:1 -       Glory to God is reflected by Priorities -       Does God hold the Glory spot in your life?  NOTE: If you truly Worship God, then you make sacrifices  - God get Firstfruits in Worship like ABEL or leftovers in obligation like CAIN?  Genesis 4 – Cain’s heart was bitter and selfish – God corrected and encouraged – STILL he killed his brother. - Biblical worship exposes true nature of hearts.   Now I say this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows generously will also reap generously. Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 (NASB)  - Refuse to submit and bow down in worship, you’re no better than Cain.  Worship Through God-Pleasing Sacrifices Through him, therefore, let us offer God a sacrifice of praise continually. For this is the natural product of lips that acknowledge his name. But don’t forget doing good and sharing with others, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Hebrews 13:15-16 (Complete Jewish Bible)   What Is Worship in Spirit and in Truth? God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24 (ESV) True Worship is love in action.  - Worship says I surrender all!!! Do You? - Worship doesn’t benefit you by the GAIN. Benefits you by the SURRENDER.  - You GIVE in Worship what first fruit God gave you and He gives back an Orchard.

✅ Subscribe - WHAT IS THE CHURCH? When asked “What is the church?”, where does your mind go?  - To a physical location? - To a memory? Good or Bad! - To Jesus? - To a group of Christ-followers? - To the Universal Body of Christ?   Why Important to Understand Church? NOTE: What the church IS and ISN’T. NOTE:  Church is Bigger than a building! - Unmet expectations - #1 cause of divorce in marriage and in church.  NOTE: Church is modeled after God’s trinitarian relationship.  Trinitarian Character of God’s Church –  Universal Church (Father) - all God’s people in all times and places. Only Christians are members.  And God put all things in subjection under His feet and made Him head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:22-23 (NASB)  Local Church (Son) - Gatherings of the Universal Church in various locations. Not all are Christians – Some onlookers.  Personal Church (Holy Spirit) –Most intimate level, you are a part of the Body of Christ NOT because of who you are but who lives inside of you – the Holy Spirit.  Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]?  You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (Amplified Bible)  Do Church As God Intended – Trinitarian Relationship Unfiltered alignment between: - What God wanted (Universal),  - What Jesus created (Local) and - What people did (Personal)  Acts 2:42-47 - The Fellowship of the Believers They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common.  They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.  BEWARE: - Society tries separating God from Church and Church from God. - When Universal Church is silenced by world - Tip of Spear is Dulled! - Local Churches shut down or go unattended – Body of Christ Suffers Disconnection - When Personal Church stops reading God’s Word and pursuing Holy Spirit – Kingdom Growth Blueprint stops.  - COMMIT TO BE CHURCH AS GOD DESIGNED CHURCH Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. Someone who is trustworthy in a small matter is also trustworthy in large ones,  and someone who is dishonest in a small matter is also dishonest in large ones. (Matthew 28:20) - Am I faithful in multiplying God’s kingdom?  NOTE: Faithful stewardship means multiplication.  - Kingdom is building is never about DECREASE -No poverty mentality.  From the parable of the five talents: Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Four Ways Jesus Culture Flourishes

Multiplying Jesus Culture

1. Authentic Engagement

Jesus knew people and He allowed others to know him. (No MASK)

He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs,

appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.

Acts 1:3 (ESV)

2. Invitation to Participate

Jesus invited both men and women (Counterculture) to participate in God’s reign and share that reign with others (OPEN PALMS), even when they didn’t have it all together (What today’s culture calls QUALIFIED), even when they inevitably would fail (Discipleship). No special lineage, schooling, gender, or social status was needed (CALLED).

In Mark 16 – The three women at the empty tomb were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome mother of James and John.

But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you to Galilee; you will see Him there, just as He told you.’” They went out and fled from the tomb, for they were seized with trembling and astonishment; and they said nothing [about it] to anyone, because they were afraid. Now Jesus, having risen [from death] early on the first day of the week, appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons. She went and reported it to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning.

3. Empowerment

It’s one thing to “like” Jesus, but another to live like Jesus. Jesus Culture gives you the authority and power to do it.

Now He called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all the demons, and the power to heal diseases.  And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing.

Jesus corrects corrupted beliefs, attitudes, and actions.

Correction brings Conviction which can lead to greater faith and works for Christ.

NOTE: Even after disciples refused to believe Mary Magdalene (Mark 16:11), Jesus Culture says to correct, convict and commission for kingdom service.

Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
