This week, Scott is speaking with Kristian Bush, half of the superstar duo "Sugarland," about Kristian's deep roots in Atlanta, his upcoming show on a small stage in Decatur, what makes a song sound like it came out of Georgia, and how songwriters and musicians could contribute to reuniting America.

This week, Scott is speaking to Alexander Eisele about the recent passing of his father, Kurt Eisele. After training and apprenticeships as a young man in his native Germany, Kurt is credited with having a major role in introducing fine European dining to Atlanta in the mid 1960's before opening his own restaurant, now in its 40th year in Gwinnett County.

There is quite a story here about Kurt immigrating to America and the number of chefs he influenced and trained.

This week, Scott's speaking with Bryan Fluech, Associate Director for the UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant. He is based In Brunswick and well versed in all things aquaculture for Georgia, especially the shrimping industry. The state wild-caught shrimping season is set to begin on or around June 10, which allows shrimpers to fish within three miles off the Georgia coast. While that's a welcome development, there are fewer Georgia shrimp boats than ever. We talk about how cheaper, imported shrimp can flood the market and edge out the local captains who can't afford to compete, despite having what many consider to be a superior product.

This week, Scott is speaking to Interpretive Ranger Ashley Aultman at the Roosevelt Little White House Historic Site in Warm Springs, Georgia. How Roosevelt's friend George Foster Peabody was responsible for getting FDR to travel to middle Georgia to experience the warm springs for himself in 1924, well before the presidency, looking for relief if not a cure to the polio that continued to leave him immobile and in pain. Now the Little White House is frozen in time just as it was the day FDR died in 1945. And something you might not know: how the relations Roosevelt had with the people of Georgia profoundly influenced him to create The New Deal, including getting electricity to farmers in rural America. This week, Scott's speaking with City of Duluth Public Works Director Audrey Turner about the hundreds of roadside markers and flags the town erects the week before and after Memorial Day each year. And Duluth residents Kathy Marelle, Chris McGregor and Steve Lynn talk about the servicemembers they are honoring this year. Duluth has been doing this since 1989, and it never fails to inspire all who see it. We will dig deeper into the story in our special Memorial Day broadcast Monday morning May 26. This week, Scott is speaking with 8th District US Representative Austin Scott about the bipartisan legislation that would finally give Georgia a national park. The Ocmulgee Mounds near Macon is already a National Historic Park, but getting the per se "National Park" designation would be a boon for tourism, says Rep. Scott. We look at where the legislation stands now, and the remarkable story of the Mississippian indigenous people who built the mounds around 900 AD.

This week, Scott's speaking with Drew Buckner, the 3rd generation owner/operator of Buckner's Family Restuarant in Butts County, Georgia. The all-you-can-eat recipes that have kept them a popular stop off I-75 just off State Highway 36 for decades. The thousands of pounds of

fried chicken they expect to service during Mother's Day weekend. And a hilarious story of the only time Drew Buckner can recall having to cut off a customer going over the top with the all you can eat policy.
