Hosea is one of 12 Old Testament Minor Prophets used by God during the reign of 6 kings of Israel and Judah. Not only was he used to deliver a stark reminder of how far Israel had descended into corruption and Spiritual deviancy, God also intervened in Hosea's personal life to show how His Chosen People had prostituted themselves with surrounding pagan cultures.
Despite their sinfulness, the book of Hosea illustrates God's faithfulness and willingness to forgive.
Key Verse : 'For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgement of God rather than burnt offerings' (Hosea 6:6 & quoted by the Lord in Matthew 9:13 & 12:7)
