Scratch my back

Listen Later

Scratch my back

Some days seem, to be full of rain and just drag on forever

You pound your head and search your mind for something clever

To erase the hopelessness which has taken up residence in your mind

If you’d only be able to open your eyes, there’d be a chance you could find

Validity to keep you going, running full speed ahead into your latest endeavor

Sometimes you feel like the whole world treats you like a bitch

Annoying you worse than that spot in your back you can’t itch

Run those long pretty nails across me mama, scratch my back

And then I’ll scratch yours, and honey we’ll be on the right track

Sometimes even your friends seem to make you want to scream

Crawl under the covers, close your eyes, pretend it’s a bad dream

You have had your share of downs, been a part of too many bad deals

But do you remember baby, the man who drives the rusty set of wheels?

Sing a happy tune as the two of us blaze along following the headlight beam

Sometimes you feel like the whole world treats you like a bitch

Annoying you worse than that spot in your back you can’t itch

Run those long pretty nails across me, mama scratch my back

And then I’ll scratch yours, and honey we’ll be on the right track

We might scuffle a bit here and there, hit a pothole or two

But when the dust has settled baby, I’ll still be loving you

So, you just run those pretty nails across me mama, scratch my back

And then I’ll scratch yours and honey we’ll be on the right track

Scratch my back
