What is the first image that appears in your head when thinking about the 4th of July? Flags? Stars? Eagles? Well for the Screen Refresh crew, it's naturally werewolves.
Join Nick, Dean, and Tim as they travel back to the small town of Tarker's Mills in 1976 to search for answers to questions like "What exactly is the case completion rate for the Tarker's Mills PD?" or "Did all those cans in the garage ever actually get donated?" and "How did Marty get so alarmingly strong?"
Break out the fireworks and join Screen Refresh for Silver Bullet!
The Screen Refresh crew welcomes aboard Josh from Into The Video Game this month to delve into their favorite horror games as they try to pin down what makes a horror game good and why their favorites hit the mark.
Why do we search out games and media specifically to frighten ourselves? Is horror subjective, and can any game qualify as a horror game? Why do we somehow keep talking about sharks in this episode?
Lock your doors and turn off your lights, it's time to get spooky on this month's Rule Of Thirds!
A special thanks to Kev Sinnott (@KevinSinnott5) for the theremin work on our spookified version of our theme during this episode! Go give him a listen!

It's the Summer of 1995. Kids all across theaters throughout the country are fist-pumping in anticipation for their Saturday morning show to finally hit the big screen. Parents are ushering them into seats as two things are on all their minds: "Will this movie accurately portray the extreme lifestyles of teenagers with attitude?" and "Will this movie provide me with the 7 seconds I need of my favorite 'They Might Be Giants' song?"
The movie was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and in its 96 minutes, it packed more one-liners, rockin' 90's soundtracks, and soulful eye-contact than anyone could handle that Summer.
Join the Screen Refresh crew this month as we're joined by our very own resident pink ranger, Laura, to help us tackle questions like "How long exactly is the morphin process?" or "Why didn't our highschools have competitive skydiving?"
Sit back and relax because it's morphin time this month on Screen Refresh!
We've all had things in our lives that we wanted to share with everyone we could. It could have been a game you found in a sale bin or a movie you caught some night on TV that clicked with you but no one in your life was aware of or talking about. Well join Nick, Dean, and Tim this month as they reveal their own hidden gems that they feel more people should check out.
Could it be a book? A movie? A place? An abstract concept? Who knows; it's the wild west out here so grab a shovel and prepare to dig up some hidden gems on this month's Rule Of Thirds!

After TMNT2 and Mortal Kombat, the Screen Refresh crew has decided to do something a little smaller this month. Much smaller.
Nick, Dean, and Tim discuss the 1989 hit, "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" and contemplate serious issues like, "Just how big is an adult scorpion in Disney's Fresno?" or "Was everyone traumatized by the Antie scene?" and "Is Wayne Szalinski one bad day away from giving us a supervillain origin story?"
Join the crew and prepare to get small on this month's Screen Refresh!
Nick and Tim have an empty spot in the party with Dean being out this week, so they enlist Cam from the Into The Video Game Podcast to begin scratching the surface on the game genre we all love: RPGs (Role Playing Games).
Join the crew as they tackle topics like, "What exactly makes a game an RPG?" and "How important is sound and score in games?" and "Why are we not living in a world that has Pokemon Stadium 3?"
Gather your party and join the quest on this month's Rule of Thirds!

Join Dean, Nick, and Tim this month as they return to innocence and sail away to Shang Tsung's island to defend Earth Realm!
In preparation for the reboot (please be good), the Screen Refresh crew investigates questions like "Where's Kano?" or "Is Jax still waiting at that dock?" or "Does anyone here know what a 'flawless victory' is?"
Get over here, and prepare for Mortal Kombat!
Dean, Nick, and Tim are back this week to discuss a game genre deeply ingrained in both arcades and childhoods, Beat'em Up Games!
Do you find yourself eating apples and turkey dinners off the ground? Do you frequently fall on the ground and blink in and out of existence? Do you feel the undeniable need to "Continue"? You may be in a beat'em up game!
Also, take part in our first impromptu giveaway and join us as "Player 4"! Listen to the episode for details on how to get a copy of some of the games we discuss!

It's no secret that we're big Turtles fans here and you knew it was only a matter of time before we broke down and covered the series.
Now you may ask, "But Screen Refresh, why are you starting with the second movie?" Well we don't want to make you feel old here at Screen Refresh, but it's the 30th anniversary this month!
Then you might ask, "But the 30th anniversary of the first was last year and you didn't cover that at all!" Well we weren't a podcast then, but subscribe and join us March 5th, 2040 when we cover the 50th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1! We promise it'll be worth the wait.
For now, strap on your shells and join us for the film that brought you dancing turtles, a super Shredder, and asked the question, "Have you ever seen a turtle get down?"
Cowabunga, it's the new Screen Refresh Podcast!
The Screen Refresh gang is fighting this month. In games, that is.
Tim and Dean are missing Nick this week but managed to pick up a few new challengers in the form of Sam from the Into The Video Game Podcast and David from The Screaming Brain. They're taking a look at the fighting games that stood the test of time or captured what it was that they love about the genre.
Join them as they explore questions like "What would be the perfect vehicle for another Rock movie?", "What fighting game had the best bowling mini-game?", or "Why is 2005's Shrek Super Slam relevant to any of this?"
This is going to be a match to remember, Round 1 begins now!
