Featuring Alexander Skarsgård in the lead role of Amleth, the viewer watches a story unfold through this film of a vikings family falling apart and the myth of whether or not Amleth can truly hold his vows successsfully. Is this film truly worth all of the hype it's receiving through the media? We discuss this and more on our episode this week! Plot: Prince Amleth is on the verge of becoming a man when his father is brutally murdered by his uncle, who kidnaps the boy's mother. Two decades later, Amleth is now a Viking who raids Slavic villages. He soon meets a seeress who reminds him of his vow - save his mother, kill his uncle, avenge his father.

    This week we take it back to the college days with the Pauly Shore classic "Son in Law"! If there's something to learn from watching the film "Son in Law", it's that you never need to live on a farm forever when you can be in college with Pauly Shore! "Son in Law" was released in 1993 and directed by Steve Rash. The film displays a character going from life on a farm to life in a city and all walks of confidence in between. Is there relatability for contemporary viewers with this film? We discuss this and more on our episode this week! Plot: Country girl Rebecca (Carla Gugino) has spent most of her life on a farm in South Dakota, and, when she goes away to college in Los Angeles, Rebecca immediately feels out of place in the daunting urban setting. She is befriended by a savvy party animal named Crawl (Pauly Shore), who convinces the ambivalent Rebecca to stay in the city. When Thanksgiving break rolls around, Rebecca, no longer an innocent farm girl, invites Crawl back to South Dakota, where he pretends to be her fiancé.

    Plot: Aging mobster Big Mac (Donald MacBride) is looking to pull off one more heist before he retires. With his sights set on robbing a California casino, Big Mac breaks one of his former associates, Roy Earle (Humphrey Bogart), out of prison to mastermind the job. When the robbery goes awry, Earle is forced to go on the lam and settles for the night in the hills of the nearby Sierra Nevadas. But, with the cops on his tail, Earle is soon forced to fend off the law from the mountains.

A film that was recently nominated for 4 Academy Awards (and walked away with one of them!), "Drive My Car" is based on the short story entitled the same name that was written by Haruki Murakami. The film directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi features numerous languages, ideas, and performances in its writing that will keep your mind open throughout the film.
