ANYTHING’S POSSIBLE MOVIE REVIEW

Amazon Prime is sending you back to school for some LGBTQ+ education with Billy Porter’s directorial debut Anything’s Possible written by Ximena Garcia Lecuona and starring Eva Reign as Kelsa.  Kelsa is an ambitious senior trans woman with dreams of becoming a world famous animal photographer.  The beauty of the animal kingdom in all its power structures, mating seasons, and water hole gossip is not unlike that of the locker room jungle and the water fountain rumour mills of public education.  Kelsa begins to develop a friendship with Kahl (Abubakr Ali), a poet with an artistic eye whose parents would prefer he focus more on economics.  Meanwhile Kelsa’s supportive but protective single mother Selene (Hamilton’s Renée Elise Goldsberry) wants to protect her from all the fetishistic weirdos out there but risks sheltering her from shining for all the world to see.  Bradly, Jordan, Melina, and Frank discuss the authenticity of the High School romance through an LGBTQ+ lens.  Discuss the confusions of internet vlogging, no cap tik tok videos, and insane instagram rhetoric all the while Jordan gets real with some personal stories about her transition.
