DACHRA MOVIE REVIEW

Our horror crew (most of them) love to explore what other cultures in other countries do with the genre. So it’s exciting for us when we hear, ‘this is the first horror film from…’ in this case, Tunisia. The results for these sort of thing vary, as do the responses by our crew and “Dachra” is no exception. The story follows three journalism students tasked with coming up with a topic for a short documentary film. One of them knows of a madwoman who has been kept in a local asylum for 20 years after being found naked by the side of the road with her throat cut, and the staff believe she is a witch due to many odd happenings. Their investigation eventually leads them to an odd hamlet in the middle of the woods that REALLY loves meat and a lot of unpleasant revelations. Christopher Lawrence Cox (Founder, Da Boss)

Adrian El Critico (Screener Squad)

Though born and raised in Chicago, this film critic is Mexican to the bone. Adrian has been watching movies since he was a child, many of which might not have been age appropriate. Still, he couldn’t get enough. All throughout his life, friends and family would look to him for his recommendations and reviews on whatever films had come their way. Inspired earlier in life by the likes of Ebert and Roper at The Movies and then later Spill.com, Adrian decided film criticism and analysis provided a great outlet to further his love of film.
