DOOM PATROL SEASON 3 SERIES REVIEW

Time to get weird again as we dive into the third season of HBO Max’s adaptation of DC Comics’ “Doom Patrol”. After having its second season cut short due to the pandemic, the new batch of episodes starts off with wrapping up what was left hanging last year before going into its new weird adventures, which this year include time travel and Sisterhood of Dada, both courtesy of new cast member Michelle Gomez as Madame Rouge. Our titular group of heroes (Jane, Rita Farr, Larry Trainor, Cliff Steele, and Vic “Cyborg” Stone) all continue to deal with their own deep-seated problems and find pathos in the most unusual ways. Here to run down how this season stacks with the previous two are Rose, Jordan, Neil, and Eliot. Will it save the day or turn into a universal reflection of its own angst as expressed through the large intestine of a purple flying donkey (or you know, something like that)?

Originally hailing from Austin then Houston, Rose has been an avid movie and TV fanatic pretty much since birth. I first got hooked on movies when I saw Star Wars at a drive-in theater as a kid. Growing up in a small, rural town meant not having access to a lot of movies. In college, that all changed.
