DREAMCATCHER MOVIE REVIEW

To be clear this is not a remake of the Stephen King adaptation from 2003. Which came as a relief at the time when we signed up to review it. Oh, how we laugh now at our naivety. Those were the good times. But now, having seen this EDM slasher movie nonsense we long for the days of shitweasels. The story follows a group of startlingly unlikeable young people who go to an exclusive rave with the famous DJ Dreamcatcher (?) as the star attraction. One of them hangs out with the attractive young lad in the green room and takes some drugs with him only to freak out and, in front of her friends who have come looking for her, bloodily commits suicide. Stunned, they are led out of the party by the DJ’s manager who assures them that they can’t beat her in a legal situation over this and they’d be better off just taking payoffs the next day at a party at DJ-D’s swanky home. And then, well, it’s a series of scenes featuring terrible people being offed by *someone* wearing DJ Dreamcatcher’s signature mask in yawningly tame ways. Which seems refreshing next to the ending which…well…look, just listen to Chris, Jordan, Adrian, and Brad get mad as hell at this thing.

Christopher Lawrence Cox (Founder, Da Boss)

Born in the wilds of northern Virginia, in 1992 Chris managed to put all of his survival skills to use and barely escaped with his life to Austin Texas, where ever since he’s dabbled in everything from plumber’s assistant to sandwich maker, from band to bar management.
