FLUX GOURMET MOVIE REVIEW

Peter Strickland’s (In Fabric) latest film, Flux Gourmet, is a feast of sight and sound commenting on the pretentious art world. Fatma Mohamed, Ariane Labed, and Asa Butterfield star as a trio of musically talented culinary artists that have been accepted in the prestigious Sonic Culinary Institute. Gwendoline Christie runs said institute trying to push her own agenda with the trio in solidifying her mark on the artist’s work. Meanwhile, we have Stones, played by Makis Papadimitriou, who documents the work being done while suffering a bad case of gas. Sounds delicious? Sounds absurd? Born and raised in South Texas, Frank currently lives in Austin and has been in love with movies ever since his father showed him some Three Stooges shorts when he was five years old. Today he loves all kinds of film, regardless of era, country, budget or genre. He believes every film has an audience and is at least one person’s favorite movie. Sarah Jane was born and raised in Southern California but currently calls Austin, TX her home. She’s seen over 5,700 movies so far with zero plans on stopping.
