HILLBILLY ELEGY MOVIE REVIEW

From the deepest part of the woods and the highest Appalachian hills comes Ron Howard’s latest drama, “Hillbilly Elegy”. Based on the memoirs of J.D. Vance (played here by Gabriel Basso), we follow the Yale law student as he hurries back home to Ohio after the latest relapse of his troubled mother Bev (Amy Adams) to help the family during this emergency. Returning home of course brings back a lot of memories to J.D. both good and bad and how his life was shaped thanks his mother and grandmother (Glenn Close). Our own hillbillies Rose, Jordan, Eliot, and Mark are here on the front porch to give their reviews. Y’all come listen now, ya hear?

Eliot Nelson (Screener Squad, Staff Writer)

Soaked in the soggy rains of Seattle, Eliot developed a love of sci-fi, movies, cartoons, heavy metal, and all of geekdom. Pursuing his passion for the written word, he got his BA from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. He has since worked exclusively in the foodservice industry, like any liberal arts major worth their salt.
