LOVE AND MONSTERS MOVIE REVIEW

An irradiated Earth led to all cold-blooded creatures mutating to gigantic sizes and creating an unlivable surface for humans. The few remaining live underground. That list of the living includes Joel (Dylan O’Brien) and Aimee (Jessica Henwick), high school sweethearts. Unfortunately, they are hiding out over 80 miles away from each other, and for an on foot journey, the odds of survival are low. Especially for a guy who freezes up when he gets scared. Nonetheless, the trip is on for Joel who is fortunate enough to meet Michael Rooker along the way (one of the only occasions in film history in which it was fortunate to meet up with Michael Rooker). Chris, Trevor, Lewayne, and Davey take on this post-apocalypse comedy and decide its merits on the Zombieland scale.

Davey Peppers (Staff Writer, Audio and Video Editor, Screener Squad, Eye on the Prize)

Many words have been used to describe Davey Peppers. Words like “Eh” and “Please go outside, just once”. He studied film and advertising at Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, because two degrees in fields with terrible job placement is better than one, and currently runs the YouTube channel Game Mechanics. He is easily distracted by shiny things and even the most basic passing mention of a movie being sad. He can be found on Twitter as well as staring at a blank wall wondering what the point is, and if his spending so much time staring at walls is the reason he’s not funny.

 

Trevor Trujillo (Screener Squad)

Trevor T. Trujillo is a One Of Us contributor in addition to being the co-host, co-founder, and co-producer of the Nighthawks Podcast. Trevor’s 17-year media career spans multiple arenas including television, radio, podcasting, and online journalism; and he is currently the editor-in-chief for a regional online news provider in the Rocky Mountain West. Often a nomad, Trevor has found himself “at home” in places like Austin,
