MAX CLOUD MOVIE REVIEW

Max Cloud, Intergalactic Space Hero! Or I should say: Scott Adkins, International Martial Arts Hero leads the cast in this low-budget, sci-fi, metal, early 90s video game satire that borrows a bit from the newer Jumanji films but does its own thing with it. When a young girl who can’t seem to stop playing on her home game system the side-scrolling “Max Cloud” game, she gets sucked into it but into the body of a man and unfortunately, the wimpiest character to play in the game: the chef. Sidekicking to the human embodiment of toxic masculinity that is Max, she learns how to put her gaming skills to use with the help of her friend back on earth, Cowboy, who has his hands on her controller. Together, and with the assistance of a variety of other oddballs who appear, they navigate to the final lava levels and defeat the baddie. Or do they? We’re not telling but Chris, Ben, Ryan, and Max WILL tell you whether this cartridge is worth sticking in your Nintendo or if you should just see how much you can get for it at Gamestop.

Born in the wilds of northern Virginia, in 1992 Chris managed to put all of his survival skills to use and barely escaped with his life to Austin Texas, where ever since he’s dabbled in everything from plumber’s assistant to sandwich maker, from band to bar management. I was born in Houston, moved to various places in the US, graduated from DePaul University in Chicago, and now residing in Denver. I really live at the cinema though. I tend to have different opinions than the general masses on most entertainment properties and it always makes for interesting discussions. Why do companies keep making movies based on fanfics based on other fanfics based on Vampires? I don’t know, but I’ll watch all of them. Do I like DCEU movies way more than MCU? Definitely. Is ‘The Last Jedi’ my absolute favorite Star Wars film? Yep.
