MIDNIGHT MASS SERIES REVIEW

Director/Writer Mike Flanagan has become a real favorite here at the OOU offices. And although “The Haunting of Bly Manor” wasn’t the hit Netflix was hoping for after the wild success of Flanagan’s “The Haunting of Hill House”, he’s back for a third round, sans “The Haunting of..” with “Midnight Mass”. This new miniseries follows the residents of a small island community that is slowly dying. When a new priest shows up (Hamish Linklater) to replace the long-time but now off-island and infirm one, he brings life and hope back to the residents. And then miracles start to happen. And then people start to get…younger. And then stuff starts dying. Born and raised in South Texas, Frank currently lives in Austin and has been in love with movies ever since his father showed him some Three Stooges shorts when he was five years old.
