OBI-WAN KENOBI SERIES REVIEW
A long time ago, before Disney purchased Lucasfilm and completely erased the Star Wars Expanded Universe, there were thousands of pages of comics and novels, as well as games, detailing every corner of the galaxy far, far away. There was so much content from so many different publishers, that even the most devout fans couldn’t decide what was or was not canon. Basically, you had to pick and choose what you thought counted. Since 2012, and the Disney acquisition, there has been a new Expanded Universe created exclusively by the House of Mouse, thus making it that much easier to know what is in fact part of the Star Wars canon. At least you’d think it would be easier. With each new piece of content, the fandom grows more and more divided. While some fall in love with Star Wars over and again (with most of Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau’s contributions lauded), some vocal few claim the franchise has been ruined time and again! That everything they love is now tainted by one horrible thing after another! Those same few choosing to forget the truly awful previous EU entries, like the Ewok Adventure movies, Rokur Gepta, Durga the Hutt and the Darksaber, or the >shudder< Star Wars Holiday Special. Is Star Wars any better or worse than it has always been? Michael, Drew, T.C. and Melina gather around the Jedi Council Chambers to converse about the newest entry into the timeline with what might very well be the most anticipated and desired piece yet: Obi-Wan Kenobi the Series. Set ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, Ewan McGregor returns as Obi-Wan, now just going as Ben, who is now on Tatooine, completely cut off from the Force, while keeping a watchful eye on the young Luke. Ben receives an emergency call from Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits) that Leia (newcomer Vivien Lyra Blair) has been kidnapped. Reluctantly, Ben sets out to rescue the Princess while dodging Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) and the Inquisitors, specifically Reva, the Third Sister (Moses Ingram), who is obsessed with locating Kenobi.
