PAULIE GO! MOVIE REVIEW

Paulie Go (Ethan Dizon) is a child prodigy and high school senior who dreams of studying under Professor Chuck Shikenjanski (Bernard White), a pioneer in the field of AI and robotics. When his application to the Shikenjanski Institute is denied, an outraged Paulie impulsively steals a van and drives 2000 miles to confront the reclusive professor and change his mind. Paulie’s search leads him to a small town in Minnesota. There he meets local teenager Avery (Madison Wolfe) an avid fisher with her own boat and a fishing YouTube channel. Convinced that the professor lives in a house off one of the many lakes in the region, Paulie hires Avery as a guide. Once on the water, there’s plenty of time for these two kids to get to know one another. It’s in these quiet two-person scenes that the film shines, despite some genuinely unexpected elements in the final act. Coincidentally, this review is also a two-person affair. Despite having a smaller crew than usual, our reviewers T.C. and Marco still had plenty to say about this whimsical teenage comedy. Is Paulie Go a catch, or should you throw it back?
