From the same studio that brought you that obscure little art film The Godfather comes a (highly fictionalized) dramatization of the making of The Godfather. This ten episode miniseries from showrunner Michael Tolkin (The Player) comes to Paramount Plus just in time for the 50th anniversary of Francis Ford Coppola’s 1972 masterpiece. Based on the memories of producer Albert S. Ruddy (Miles Teller) The Offer takes the viewer through every step of the process; from Mario Puzo’s work in progress novel to the night Ruddy accepts the Best Picture Oscar on behalf of the film. With a stacked ensemble cast (Juno Temple, Giovanni Ribisi, Dan Fogler, Matthew Goode, Colin Hanks, Burn Gorman, to name a few), great production values, and a wealth of anecdotes about the making of The Godfather, there’s a lot to admire in this ten hour miniseries. That’s an hour longer than the entire Godfather Trilogy, in case you were counting. But does the fiction get in the way of the real story?
