Carlos Rivera

Carlos Rafael Rivera is a commissioned and EMMY award winning composer whose career has spanned several genres of the music industry. His work for film and Television includes scores for Netflix’ Godless and Universal Pictures’ A Walk Among the Tombstones. As a guitarist he has performed onstage as opening act for The Who at the Hollywood Bowl; recorded studio sessions for Island/Def Jam, and Universal Records; and had songs featured on feature soundtracks (Crash, Dragonfly), as well as ABC’s Scrubs, MTV andVH-1.

Karen Hall

Karen Hall graduated with a Bachelor’s in English from the College of William & Mary with a concentration in playwriting. After impressing Alan Alda with her talent, she got her first job: a freelance assignment on “M*A*S*H.” This led to her being brought on staff (as the first and only female writer) for “M*A*S*H,” which the Writers Guild of America has ranked it as the fifth best-written TV series ever and which TV Guide has ranked it as the eighth greatest television show of all time.

She also wrote the final episode (“Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen”) which to this day remains the most watched television show in American history, both in ratings and share.

Among her many credits as a screenwriter, producer and “showrunner” are M*A*S*H, Hill Street Blues, Moonlighting, Northern Exposure, Quantum Leap, I’ll Fly Away, Roseanne, Grace Under Fire, Judging Amy, The Glades, The Brotherhood, and The Good Wife along with such movies as Toughlove, The Betty Ford Story and The Women of Brewster Place.

She has received 6 Emmy nominations, 7 Writer’s Guild of America Awards nominations and has won the Writer’s Guild of America Award for her work on Hill Street Blues, as well as the Women in Film Luminas Award, the Humanitas Award, and the Scott Newman Award. She has also written a novel titled Dark Debts currently out by Simon & Schuster.

She was also a professor of screenwriting at Appalachian State University and she is also currently developing several pilots.

Paul Brett

Paul Brett is an Executive Producer and Partner at Flying Tiger. Over the past 5 years, Flying Tiger’s team has raised over £160m in finance for film and TV through Enterprise Investment Scheme’s, the most recent examples being “A Street Cat named Bob” and “Wolf Hall”. Flying Tiger was born as an offshoot of Prescience with Paul Brett (founder) continuing the same mission, to finance independent films that bring together the best studios, producers and sales agents. Flying Tiger provides advice to companies, funds and individuals looking to finance equity, tax credit, presales and development across the film and television industries. Previously, Paul served as a co-founder and director of Prescience, an integrated media company that focuses on film and television production and financing. Launched in 2004, it has provided over £300m of film finance for more than 50 independent UK and US productions, including multiple Oscar winner The King’s Speech and last year’s highest grossing Independent film, Chef, where Mr. Brett was Executive Producer. Recent Prescience TV projects include Wolf Hall, starring Damian Lewis and Mark Rylance and The Dresser starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and Sir Ian McKellen.

Paul has worked in the media industry since leaving university 32 years ago. He has worked at Video Arts, (the world’s first audio/visual training company), Catalyst (the world’s first audio-visual publishing company backed by Goldcrest), TEN – The Movie Channel (Britain’s first PAY TV company), Video Collection International, (the world’s first sell through label), Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios and Pathe/Guild. Paul developed and implemented the UK exhibition and distribution strategy over a three year period at the British Film Institute/UK Film Council, leaving to found Prescience with Tim Smith. At the BFI/UKFC, Paul was responsible for the BFI’s relationships with exhibitors throughout the UK and Northern Ireland, including both arthouse and commercial cinemas. Prior to this, he opened the Miramax International office in London as Vice President of European Marketing. Paul’s film credits number more than two dozen including, in addition to the above, Harry Brown, 360, Easy Virtue, Dorian Gray, sex&drugs&rock&roll, Song for Marion plus the upcoming Madame Bovary and The Hallows. Paul lives in London with his partner Meredith, children Polly and Felix as well as a menagerie of domesticated animals.

Matthew Stein Bio

Matthew Stein is currently the head of scripted film and TV for Live

Nation Productions, the production company division of Live Nation,

the premiere worldwide live entertainment company, and owner of

Ticketmaster. Live Nation Productions recently executive produced

the worldwide phenomenon A Star is Born, starring Live Nation artist

Lady Gaga.

He is also a producer under the moniker M.E.S. Productions and

currently has multiple film and television projects set up at his prior

home of Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he served as VP, at

Sony Pictures Entertainment International Productions. This unique

division developed English language television series, local language

movies, and English language movies with heavy international

appeal. His most recent film that he helped produce for this division

was Slaughterhouse Rulez, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

Matt has also produced Amityville: The Awakening for Dimension

Films/Blumhouse. He served as a producer on Dimension thrillers

Kristy and Piranha 3DD, as well as Image Entertainment’s The

Houses That October Built.

Matt spent 12 years working for Dimension Films, where he

ascended through the ranks to run production as Executive Vice

President of Production. He oversaw all phases of production,

development, and casting for the division, and was Executive

Producer on such varied films as Scream 4, Halloween, Halloween 2,

Apollo 18, Hellride, Superhero Movie, and more.

Matt has been the executive in charge of production on over 35 films

in his time, and also held the positions of Senior Vice President, Vice

President, and started his career as an assistant to co-Chairman, Bob

Weinstein.

He graduated from The University of Miami, where he majored in

Film. He currently resides in Los Angeles.

Jimmy Jean Louis

Truly a "rags to riches" story, Haitian-born actor Jimmy Jean-Louis grew up in the slums of Petion-Ville, Haiti until age 12, to become a Hollywood celebrity. His deep love for his homeland cause him to shift his focus from his acting career to help rebuild Haiti, ravaged by the 7.0 earthquake on January 12th, 2010.

Earlier in is career, Jimmy worked as a dancer and a model in France, Spain, Italy, South Africa and England. He moved to Los Angeles in 1998 to pursue acting. His credits include "Tears of the sun" (Bruce Willis), "Phat Girlz" (Mo'Nique), NBC Hit show "Heroes" and "Heroes Reborn", CW show "Arrow", CBS "Extant" with Oscar winner Halle Berry produced by Steven Spielberg and more recently "Joy" with Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro directed by David O Russell.

His most important role to date is playing the title character in "TOUSSAINT LOUVERTURE" and won BEST ACTOR at the Pan African Film Festival, the Trinidad and Tobago International Film Festival and at Vues d'Afrique International Film Festival in Canada. Jimmy received the Caribbean American Excellence In The Arts award in November 2013. He was also nominated BEST ACTOR at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2012.

With an international appeal, Jimmy has been working in many parts of the world including France, England, Indonesia, Nigeria, Ghana, Mexico...making full use of his fluency in 5 languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian and Creole.

Jimmy Jean Louis is the founder and President of Hollywood Unites for Haiti a non-profit organization (501c3) established in 2008 (www.haitianhero.com www.hufh.org) whose mission is to help the underprivileged youth of Haiti. In response to the disaster and to provide immediate relief to the victims of the earthquake, HUFH joined forces with the Pan American Development Foundation and the Organization of American States.

Adrian Wootton

Adrian Wootton OBE is the Chief Executive of Film London, the agency charged with developing the film and media industry in the capital, and the British Film Commission, the unit responsible for promoting the UK as the best place to produce feature films and high end television in the UK. Adrian is a Programme Advisor to the BFI London Film Festival, the Venice Film Festival and Noir in Fest, Milan. He has co-produced and co-written two documentaries for BBC Arena: Dickens on Film (2012) and All the World’s A Screen: Shakespeare on Film (2016) and is a member of the British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA), the European Film Academy (EFA) and the British Screen Advisory Council (BSAC). In 2012, Adrian received an Honorary Doctorate in the Arts and was appointed Visiting Professor of Film & Media and Norwich University of the Arts. In 2014 he received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from The University of East Anglia.
