For the final time this season, Lexie and Meg sit down to discuss the 12 plays of Season 4 all together - pondering questions such as
"Which character would you like to see a one person play written about?"
"Which play would you like to see adapted as a radio play/musical?"
and
"Which play would you like to see made in the Muppet Universe?"
Co Hosted by Lexie Ward and Meg Robinson.

We are thrilled here at Script In Hand HQ to be welcoming our first guest from the across the pond, playwright, pupeteer and all-round fabulous human being, J.Chavez! Author of our S4.Ep10 play 'how to clean your room,' Jay joins us to talk all things 'clean,' but also about their obsession with puppets, back and future catalogue of work, and just what is the meaning behind the mysterious cycles?!

Jay Chavez (they/them) is a Seattle based playwright, educator, and all around theatre maker. Through the power of Red Bulls they earned a BA in Theatre from Western Washington University, concentrating in Directing, Dramatic Writing, and Education. They were crowned the unofficial title of Lil’ Miss Kennedy Center and Miss Kennedy Center Continental for their play “how to clean your room (and remember all your trauma)” which was also the winner those awards I mentioned previously. “how to clean” is featured in the Methuen Drama Book of Trans Plays, a first of it’s kind anthology of Trans plays written by Trans playwrights for Trans people. It’s been over two decades and Jay is still chasing the knowledge of how wind works. They currently work as a Teaching Artist at Seattle Children’s Theatre teaching playwriting, sketch comedy, and acting. Along with that, they also have the totally real not fake job as a Marine Science Puppeteer at the Seattle Aquarium teaching patrons about empathy around sea creatures.

It's our final play of season 4! And in a bid to keep it seasonal, we're covering WE KNOW NOW SNOWMEN EXIST, a play with buckets of snow AND a snowman....(and a horror edge inspired by a creepy urban myth, but that's okay right?)
A play that tries to answer the age old question of just what is a horseradish; and why would a group of young women feel the need to cut their way out of a tent when the exit is right there? Is it because just maybe...snowmen exist? With special guest playwright Michael Spencer.
Co Hosted by Lexie Ward and Meg Robinson.

Ever wonder what the radioactive spider bite of a playwright could be? We think we may have a superhero/star origin story for Michaela Cole in her play Chewing Gum Dreams. Meg & Lexie debate what makes someone the heroine in a one person show - Plus what song does make the best accompaniment to a teenage make out session?

Who should pay a gas bill for a flat no-one was living in at the time of the usage? Who gets to tell the stories of history? And should Lexie & Meg go to Eurovision in 2023?
We're delighted to welcome a special guest to our podcasting couch today to help us with answering all these questions- Matthew Xia! Artistic Director of Actors Touring Company and the director of the UK Premiere of this week's play AMSTERDAM at the Orange Tree Theatre.
Please note this play and episode does deal with the Holocaust and discussions around the event take place throughout the episode.

We're sharpening our number 2 pencils, applying to colleges....and quite literally killing off the competition as we discuss PEERLESS by Jiehae Park. Shortform synopsis; Macbeth with killer twins and an all important college early admission to die for, and we are obsessed! Now, just how do we activate those Wonder Twin Powers...?

Whisper it...but we may have finally found a comedy Meg and Lexie agree on! What happens when the playwright self describes their work as "Chekhov in a blender"? Well we're about to find out as we discuss Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang! We're also going to talk brand recognition (does anyone not know who Snow White is?) and condom marketing - yes this episode really does have it all!

Ooh do we have a treat in store for you Scripties! After discussing The Funeral Director on episode 4 of this series we are over the moon to be bringing you this very special interval interview episode of the pod, with the playwright herself, Iman Qureshi. Getting to hear Iman talk so openly and honestly about her work was a real privilege - AND she got to settle The Great Tea Debate between Lexie and Meg.
So enjoy this bonus ep and we'll see you back next week for S4Ep7 and a brand new play in discussion!
Please be aware that in the pay there is one scene in which a baby is prepared for burial, and we discuss that on today's episode with Iman between 28.20-30.45

The fates already know what we say in this episode...but unless you are a ye olde Greecian soothsayer and weave maker, you will probably still to listen. Your family life is already pretty complicated when your parents are also mother and son; so Tig already has a world of drama to deal with before her uncle Creo forbids her from covering her dead brother to pay respect. Throw in some pop culture references from Lexie & Meg, (Top Model, Black Mirror, and much more) and the podcast is set for some epic tragic conflict in this modernised adaptation of Antigone.
