Psalm 39vv12-13 reads, “Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry; do not be silent at my tears; for I am a stranger with You, a sojourner, as all my fathers were. (v13) Remove Your gaze from me, that I may regain strength, before I go away and am no more.”

Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges writes in part, “The earth is God’s, and man is His tenant upon it (Psalm 119:19). This being so, the Psalmist appeals for a hearing on the ground that he is but a temporary resident on the earth (Genesis 47:9), God’s guest for a while.”

Matthew Henry wrote in part, “We may see a good God doing all, and ordering all events concerning us; and a good man (and woman), for that reason, says nothing against it. He desires the pardoning of his sin, and the preventing of his shame. We must both watch and pray against sin.”

In this episode I’ll be giving thought to the Scriptures from the Scriptures only on the wording “evil thoughts” the first of defilements in Jesus’ list of heart excretions.

Christian women, what is it for us to inwardly insult someone? What is it for us to inwardly assault someone? What is it for us then to catapult those inward affronts into outward fruition?

Lamentations 3:25-27 reads, “The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. 26 It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. 27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.”

What is it for the assur-ee to wait on the assur-er? What is it to know that the One who has rightly apportioned my predicament is also my Portion? Is good a characteristic of the LORD from the LORD that is then accredited to my soul’s satisfaction in waiting for Him?
