  • Scripture Talk: Matthew 2:1-12
The Wise Men of Matthew 2 have captured the Christian imagination for millennia. We've given them royal titles, numbers, names, elaborate backstories, and camels. We painted them, dressed up as them, and celebrated them. Why do they hold such a special place in the Christian story? For gentile Christian in the early church, the Wise Men looked like them - non-Jewish people finding and worshipping the savior. Pastor Trey, Sister Brandy, Pastor Scott, and Stacy explore how the Magi also look like us as modern Christians.

Paint a picture in your mind of the perfect life - not a new agey version of your perfect life but the ideal human existence. What do you see? You probably see someone loving, care, and kind. Pastor Trey and Sister Brandy continue their work of taking the cute out of Christmas and link it instead to the story of salvation.

We intend to think that the wisdom required comes with age. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is living, breathing proof that it's not always that way. Mary was 16 years old, when she saw the angel, committed to God's plan, and sang her song. She demonstrates a depth of faith and commitment that few have ever mustered. That's not half bad for a young woman not yet out of high school. Pastor Trey, Sister Brandy, Pastor Scott, and Stacy look at Mary and see that no matter how you slice it, she's one impressive, God following lady

  • Scripture Talk: John 1:6-8, 19-28
John the Baptist knew at least three things. The way that people were worshipping God was a problem. A way for everyone to come home to God was at hand. And, he wasn't the one to bring it about. Everyone kept wanting John to be that answer, but John, like a good prophet, pointing everyone in the right direction - towards God among us. Pastor Trey, Sister Brandy, Pastor Scott, and Stacy try to face cast John the Baptist and examine what he tell us about Christmas.
