We continue this discussion on spending time in the epistles and what we would benefit as christians wehn we do.

As believers, we have specific books written to us and with us in mind, Our responsibility is to spend time reading and meditating on the things that God has specially said to us in those books. I am talking about the epistles from Romans to Jude. These books are unique to the New Testament Saint and we ought to wear out these parts of our bibles.

The scripture is a tool for training. We can train ourselves and other believers with the scriptures and watch as we mature. Spiritual growth cannot be achieved outside the scriptures. God has given us the scriptures so we can be trained in righteousness.

Many Christians are afraid of being rebuked or corrected. The Bible is the ultimate book; it teaches, rebukes and corrects. So it would not only reveal where you are wrong, it will also reveal how you can make it right.

Why do we have the bible? What can we benefit from the bible? In exploring more about "WHAT you Hear", we take a closer look at the benefit of the scriptures and the purpose for which it was given. Over the next couple of days, we explore four things that the bible says is the purpose of the scriptures.

What are you paying attention to? In these days where there are several things trying to get our attention, we ought to develop the habit of focus. Focusing on the right things, especially the Word of God will cause us to make tremendous progress in life.

We take it further today by examining the effects of Adam's sin on humanity. We see that man became subject to sin and all forms of depravity. Once Adam sinned against God, things were never the same again. Starting from the garden, man's feelings of insecurity and guilt began to show indicating that man was no longer in God's family like they were before. Man was spiritually dead and separate from God.
