Just wanted to share my experience after attending the 3-day summit put on by Screencraft.

2021 ScreenCraft Writers Summit | Hopin
Just a quick intro to what I'm doing this weekend.
I take you on a walk with me to experience my walking ritual first hand and I share multiple reasons why walking can help improve your writing.
I explore a recent experience I had where I discovered a movie that is similar to mine. Ready Player One reminded me of a script I dreamed back when I was 18/19. I talk about how to work through fears and tips on how to still honor your voice and unique story, no matter if it will be compared to another's work.
Come with me today during one of my walks. I take walks to help process my scripts and to mull over past feedback. I suggest having a walking ritual to help you better problem solve and improve your script. Pardon the windiness in the recording, please.
Just felt like sharing. The sound does in and out with this one a bit.
Tips on how to use audio to improve your script rather than only visual.
Write when your reality reflects an aspect of your script.
I just watched Oprah's interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. This podcast is a real/raw conversation directly after watching the interview. It was hard to watch and these are my unedited thoughts.
I realize that I've made one of my characters "cartoonish" in many ways and I should dive deeper into the emotional aspects. Real life will snap us out of our illusions to remind us of the true human journey. As writers, we are able to capture, dismantle and explore that. It's a responsibility to do these stories justice and a honor. I'm now more committed to paying attention enough to what people say, don't say, and hint at so that when I write the stories are more genuine to our true life expereince.
Feedback is a writer's best friend. Where to find affordable and quality feedback is the trick. I recommend CoverflyX. I've had profound feedback that inspired me to elevate my feature scripts and constructive advice that helped me write further episodes to a TV series I wrote in 2020.
