This episode is a "part two" to the theological conversation we had about money in the previous episode--Episode 4--where we discussed personal financial stewardship. In this episode, we'll discuss corporate financial stewardship, the importance of radical generosity when it comes to giving to God, and we'll even talk about our budgeting process as we tackle the annual church budget as a church family. We really enjoyed having this conversation; we hope you'll enjoy it, too.
In today's episode, we're going to talk about money. The way we earn, save, and spend money is incredibly relevant when it comes to talking about discipleship and faithfully following Jesus. With our Executive Pastor, Jordan Scott, as our guest, we delve into a passionate conversation about money and our faith. The conversation was too good to cut off, so we've split the episode into two parts. This episode will primarily focus on personal financial stewardship, but be sure to catch our next episode, which is a continuation of this conversation where we focus on corporate financial stewardship as a church family. We'll talk about our church budget and bring you into our budgeting process a bit, too. We also have a theological discussion on the importance of radical giving. We hope you enjoy both episodes!
In this episode, our guests, Juli and Jayson Oldham, share their experience of the Fellowship Pacific Ministry Workers' Family Camp at Sunnybrae Bible Camp. The Oldhams and the Parks enjoyed a fun, rejuvenating week at the family camp last week, and they discuss why it is so important for a church staff to practice "shared life; shared mission." We're so thankful for a healthy staff team at our church and we understand that we must intentionally invest in healthy relationships and rhythms in order to continue to enjoy a healthy team culture. Please continue to pray for our team!
Summer is here! With our guest, Kaitlyn Parker, we explore the beauty of the summer season and let you in on what summer looks like at our church; especially for our staff. Summer tends to be a season of exciting activities, rest, vacation, and preparation, but here in Vancouver, we also have the privilege of some glorious weather and beautiful nature all around us. Take some time to enjoy this episode while enjoying the beauty of God's creation all around you!
We are blessed with some highly competent and godly leaders in our church family, and Kaitlyn and Mary are excellent young leaders that serve our church so faithfully. In this episode, Kaitlyn and Mary invite us into their journey in the Immerse program, which is a theologically robust, cutting-edge leadership development program for Christian leaders. Moreover, they share their joys of serving our church family and honestly discuss the real challenges that they faced in the last few years. We are also given a glimpse of what their new roles as Director of SDBC Kids and Director of Community Life entail. Take a listen to hear how God has been using these two amazing women for his glory!
