Biden Signs Bill Package That Includes a Potential TikTok Ban. Here's What Happens Next ¹:

- *What does the bill do?*: The bill that Biden signed gives TikTok’s Chinese parent, ByteDance, 270 days to sell TikTok. Failure to do so would lead to significant consequences: TikTok would be prohibited from U.S. app stores and from “internet hosting services” that support it.

- *What does this mean for TikTok users?*: If TikTok can’t separate from ByteDance by the deadline, then U.S. TikTok users could hypothetically be cut off by mid-January.

- *What are TikTok’s options?*: TikTok promised to take the U.S. government to court if Biden signed the bill. In a memo on Saturday, a top TikTok executive wrote to employees that this would be the “beginning, not the end” of a long process to challenge what the company calls unconstitutional legislation that censors Americans’ speech rights and that would harm small businesses that depend on the app.

- *Does TikTok have a case?*: First Amendment experts say a bill that has the ultimate effect of censoring TikTok users could be shot down by the courts.

Logan Paul is facing a lawsuit over Prime, an energy drink company he co-founded, for the following reasons ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵:

- *Excessive Caffeine*: Prime Hydration LLC was sued on April 8 over misleading and deceptive practices regarding the company's 12-ounce energy drinks containing between 215-225 milligrams of caffeine, which is above the advertised 200 milligrams.

- *PFAS, or "Forever Chemicals"*: Independent third-party testing found the presence of PFAS chemicals in Prime Hydration grape flavor. PFAS are called forever chemicals because they "bioaccumulate, or accrue in the body over time."

- *Deceptive Marketing*: Prime is also facing legal action for allegedly marketing their products to children, with Senator Charles Schumer calling on the Food and Drug Administration to investigate Prime energy drinks in 2023 because of dangerously high caffeine levels. Schumer alleged in a letter to the FDA that vague marketing targeting young people influenced parents to buy a “cauldron of caffeine" for their kids.

Now that the solar eclipse has passed, there is another celestial event on the calendar later this year - and it involves a massive explosion 3,000 light years from Earth...

Astronomers will get the rare once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the binary star system in the constellation T Corona Borealis - "northern crown" - light up the night sky, caused by an exchange between two stars which will give it the appearance of a new star.

Normally, Corona Borealis is too dim to see with the naked eye, but this runaway nuclear explosion should be visible to the unaided eye for several days and just over a week at the peak of its brightness with binoculars before it dims again, according to NASA which says it will look as bright as the North Star when it appears in the sky. The last time the explosion occurred was 78 years ago in 1946 and after this year, it will be another 80 years (year 2104) until the next one - so a long wait if you miss out. It is only the third time humans have witnessed this event, Irish polymath John Birmingham first discovered it back in 1866.

Sumner Starrfield, an astronomer at Arizona State University is rushing to finish a scientific paper on predictions for the recurring nova when it reappears soon, Since the 1960s, he has worked on T Coronae Borealis and told AFP he is very excited to see the nova's impending "outburst".

"I could be today... but I hope it's not," he said with a laugh.
