Husky Talk- SNS is back with UConn Football Star Defensive Tackle Sean Mulcahy and I. We discuss the draft picks and expectations for the rookies as minicamp begins this weekend. Sean analyzes how Shedeur Sanders will perform with Cleveland. We both believe the Giants will be smart by allowing Jamius Winston and Russel Wilson battle it out for the starting QB job. Jaxon Dart was a great pick and we both are hoping he is allowed to take a year or two so he can actually develop.
Sean and I talk about the Quarterback position overall because the price of any starter is at least 40 million a year. Brock Purdy has not signed a new contract as he enters his final season from his rookie deal. We debated if he is worth the 50 million dollars his agents are asking for. Clearly, we see the difference because of all the weapons he has around him between Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, a top wide receiving core, plus a strong offensive line.
The Quarterback is a facilitator who get the ball to the playmakers and Purdy does it without making mistakes, We also wonder what will happen with Aaron Rogers, The Steelers literally have Mason Rudolph to trot out as a starter. They let Harris, their starting RB leave in free agency and traded their top Wide Receiver. This is a critical time where help is needed, Aaron Rogers may be their only hope. As much as he wants to go to Minnesota, it does not appear to be happening. Can't wait to see what happens!
