This month features part 1 of an interview with Terry Brown about the sport of canine nosework.

Vynn is a canine handler with decades of experience in many search and rescue disciplines. In this first episode we start by talking about what you should know as a handler, what your dog should know, water safety issues, and how to communicate to your dog that scent can come from under the water.

When I first became a civilian search and rescue volunteer, it never occured to me that legal issues might be involved. When I learned that I needed to take crime scene preservation training, I realized that search could involve the law. My originally scheduled speaker wasn't able to participate as planned. So I turned to Dr. Greg Henry, an emergency room physician with extensive legal experience, to record a podcast discussing general legal issues: What is a deposition? How should you prepare? How should you handle yourself when a question is confusiing or unclear? What are some things to avoid?

Listen to Episode 51 for a conversation with FEMA disaster canine handler Eric Darling. Eric starts by telling us about his canine partner - how he came to be be his partner, his alert, and his reward - followed by a discussion about some disaster search topics. What is a rubble pile?
