INTRO: I want you to turn to a most incredible passage this morning that deals with the mind. It is Romans 12:1-2. Recently, I listened to a speaker who seemed to be a believer, and he had a 7-minute talk called, "Science Finally Proved What Romans 12:2 Has Always said. Well, I tell people that if there is a discrepancy between science and the Bible, don't worry about it; if science arrives at facts, they will always match the Bible. I have given considerable time to studying the brain and the mind. I have written a book called "Psychology: The Biblical Nature of Man." There, I cover what the Bible teaches about the distinctions between the body, the soul, and the spirit and the brain and the mind. In doing those studies, which I have not found in any other Christian writings as fully as I have, I learned things that secular science has only recently begun to understand. I will cover one aspect of that this morning. Let me say this, that secular man is totally incapable of analyzing the mind, the soul and the spirit of man because they are not physical entities. They can know there is something there. As a matter of fact, they cannot get around the fact that man has a mind or a soul. But they have no source to explain what the soul is, whereas the Christian does. Let me say this about today's Christian psychology: They use secular psychology's conclusions and apply the Bible to those. I have certainly not read them all, but all those I have some idea about do not get their so-called psychology from the Bible, and these teachings are now in almost all Bible schools.
