Elder Bryce reads a classic sermon from J,C. Ryle.

A true challenge to thetrue Christian about the true battle in which we are engaged.

The sermon centers on the enduring nature of the true Church of Christ, defined not as any visible institution but as the spiritual community of all genuine believers united by faith in Jesus Christ, the eternal foundation. It emphasizes that Christ, as the divine Builder, personally and sovereignly constructs His church through the Holy Spirit, using various means while ensuring its ultimate security despite relentless opposition from the powers of hell. The church's foundation is Christ Himself—His atoning sacrifice and mediatorial work—which bears the weight of all sin and ensures the salvation of every believer. Though the church faces perpetual warfare from spiritual forces, the promise that 'the gates of hell shall not prevail' guarantees its invincibility, as Christ will preserve every member to final glory. The sermon concludes with a call to personal examination, urgent invitation to repentance and faith, and exhortation for believers to live holy, courageous, and joyful lives in anticipation of Christ's return.
