Recall last week as we began our study of the tenth chapter of the gospel of John, we found it is a continuation of the discourse in chapter nine between Jesus and the Pharisees who had declared the man born blind, a beggar who was healed by Jesus, as being a sinner, because he said to the Pharisees that the man who healed him was from God. The Pharisees were enraged that the man had been healed on the Sabbath, and they knew He had already healed a lame man on a Sabbath day. Jesus had said to them in chapter eight that they were of their father the devil because they could not understand Him, and they accused Him of having a demon. So the anger of the leaders of Israel grew as Jesus said to them in John 9:41, "--but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains," and they were planning to kill Him. In verses 11-17, God's final deliverance and blessing of Israel will happen when Messiah returns. God will, with finality, save His people (the final Jewish remnant). Jesus will destroy all of Israel's enemies upon His return through judgment and then He will also judge all nations (Matthew 24:31-46).
