ALL BLOOM AND NO FRUIT. [WHEN THE BLOSSOMS LOOK GOOD BUT THE BRANCHES ARE EMPTY] John 15:1–8 KJV A plant can be covered with beautiful blossoms and still never produce any fruit. Jesus warns us that the same thing can happen spiritually. A person can look religious, attend church, know the right words, and make a good outward appearance—yet still have little evidence of a life abiding in Christ. In John 15, Jesus declares that He is the Vine and we are the branches. Real spiritual fruit does not come from religion, appearance, or human effort. It comes from remaining connected to Jesus Christ. This message challenges us to look beyond the bloom and examine the fruit. Is there love, joy, peace, obedience, forgiveness, and a desire to live for Christ? The blossom may look good for a season, but the fruit reveals whether there is life in the branch. Don't just bloom—abide in Christ and bear fruit.

Nebuchadnezzar's dream is a doozy! We obviously look at it and think about Babylon and other specific kingdoms that in his day were long in the future. But the reason for God's revealing the interpretation to Daniel were to show the king that he was only king because the LORD placed him there and he would only be king until the LORD removed the kingdom from him. God is in charge of even kings and kingdoms!

Psalm 6 is the prayer of a man too crushed to finish a sentence, weeping every night, unable to tell whether the hand on him is a Father's rod or a hangman's rope, and it asks the question every hurting believer asks in the dark: on what possible ground would God listen to me now? David has nothing to bring, and he does not bring it, because the only plea that has ever worked is "save me for the sake of Your steadfast love" — and you never graduate to a better one. If you have ever prayed and heard nothing back, come and hear what happened between verse 7 and verse 8, when nothing in his circumstances had changed and everything had.
