  • Diary of Cotton Mather - For the Years 1692-1693
This diary covers some of the background incidents witnessed near the time of the Salem Witch Trials. But no mention is made of the trials, because Cotton Mather was never involved. It was only suggested after 1831 when Charles Upham in "Salem Witchcraft Volumes 1 & II attempted to place him there and make him responsible." Because of this, I narrated the introduction to a refutation of Upham's work published in the North American Review for 1869. William Frederick Poole, Cotton Mather and Salem Witchcraft, at the end of the diary narration. For more information, the listener is referred to a Sunday School class I taught on this subject. • A Call For National Repentance
And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the Lord, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the Lord. 1 Samuel 7:6 "If those defamed servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, will be a little patient, He will at last give an honorable resurrection to their names that had so much dirt cast upon them. When the names of their envious accusers will either lie buried in oblivion or be mentioned no otherwise than Judas in the Gospel, or Pilate in the Apostle's Creed. narrated by Tom Sullivan

  • Last Words of Criminals Executed in New England for Capital Crimes, Heaven & Hell
"To know that nothing hurts the godly, is a matter of comfort; but to be assured that all things which fall out shall co-operate for their good, that their crosses shall be turned into blessings, that showers of affliction water the withering root of their grace and make it flourish more; this may fill their hearts with joy till they run over." - Thomas Watson (on the Puritan Hard Drive at http://bit.ly/ci3g2z) "Christ is the very essence of all delights and pleasures, the very soul and substance of them. As all the rivers are gathered into the ocean, which is the meeting-place of all the waters in the world, so Christ is that ocean in which all true delights and pleasures meet." - John Flavel (on the Puritan Hard Drive) "We are never nearer Christ than when we find ourselves lost in a holy amazement at His unspeakable love." - John Owen (on the Puritan Hard Drive) "So in love is Christ with holiness that he will buy it with his blood for us." - John Flavel (on the Puritan Hard Drive) "We trust as we love, and where we love. If we love Christ much, surely we shall trust him much." - Thomas Brooks (on the Puritan Hard Drive) "Unfathomable oceans of grace are in Christ for you. Dive and dive again -- you will never come to the bottom of these depths!" - Robert Murray McCheyne (on the Puritan Hard Drive) "They who love any thing better than Christ are not worthy of him." - Covenanter field Minister James Renwick, on the day of his martyrdom (on the Puritan Hard Drive) Prayer keeps the heart open to God -- but shut to sin. - Thomas Watson (on the Puritan Hard Drive)
