  • GOD SPEAKS THROUGH HIS CHURCH
GOD SPEAKS THROUGH HIS CHURCH.Ephesians 4:11–16, 25–29 KJV God never intended the Christian life to be lived in isolation. He places believers together in the body of Christ, where we worship, grow, serve, encourage one another, and hear His truth proclaimed. In Ephesians 4:11–16, Paul explains that Christ gave leaders to His church "for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." Through faithful preaching, biblical teaching, godly counsel, encouragement, and the fellowship of mature believers, God often uses His church to bring His Word to bear upon our lives. But God speaking through His church never means that human opinion replaces Scripture. Everything must be tested by the Word of God. The church is most useful in speaking into our lives when it faithfully communicates what God has already revealed in His Word. Paul also teaches that spiritual maturity changes the way we communicate with one another. We are commanded to "speak the truth in love" and to use words that are "good to the use of edifying." That means every believer has a responsibility. Our words can discourage or strengthen, wound or heal, tear down or build up. This lesson challenges us to ask: Am I listening when God uses His church to speak truth into my life—and are my words helping others hear and follow Him? God speaks through a church that is grounded in Scripture, growing in Christ, speaking truth in love, and building up the body.

  • Give Me Thine Heart (Part 2)
The sermon explores the biblical command to give one's heart to God by examining various negative heart conditions and their corresponding spiritual remedies. It identifies deceit, despising, dying, delaying, double, and despairing hearts as obstacles to a godly life, offering specific scriptural countermeasures such as diligence, devotion, generosity, immediate obedience, singleness of mind, and dependence on God. The teaching emphasizes the urgency of acting on God's will without procrastination and the danger of dividing one's loyalty between worldly pursuits and divine service. Additionally, it addresses the pastoral responsibility of parents to avoid provoking bitterness in their children and encourages believers to trust in God's past, present, and future faithfulness rather than relying on self-sufficiency. The overall tone is instructive and convicting, urging listeners to align their inner dispositions with God's statutes.

  • The Deliverance with an Unarmed Army
This Sunday, we'll continue in the story of Gideon—and we will be talking about Gideon a bit differently than you may have heard in a Sunday School lesson. At least, it will be different than the way I remember hearing about Gideon when I was in Sunday School. Gideon is not a very heroic or inspiring figure, but Gideon's story can teach us a lot about what God does through our worship. It may help to read back in Joshua 6 and the victory at Jericho, and consider how God delivered that city through the sounds of worship! Gideon's story is also a poignant reminder that men are imperfect. Even the best men will disappoint. But the hero of the story is our God, and the Lord never fails, nor disappoints. God is good, and He does all that He promises.
