The people of Nazareth knew Jesus well. They knew His family, His occupation, and His background. Yet their familiarity with Him became an obstacle to faith. In Mark 6:1–6, Jesus returns to His hometown and encounters astonishment without belief, knowledge without submission, and familiarity without faith. This sermon warns against becoming so accustomed to Christ, Scripture, worship, and the means of grace that we cease to wonder, repent, believe, and obey. The rejected Prophet of Nazareth is the eternal Son of God, the crucified Savior, and the risen Lord who calls sinners not merely to admire Him, but to trust and follow Him.
