Why are rookie cards important in football/soccer card collecting? Why are they more valuable?

In this video I am going to be answering these questions, especially with regards to vintage and pre modern cards.

The Roy Keane rookie I mention in this episode PSA 10 population is 11 (total pop 181).

Wayne Rooney is in some legendary sets but his 1of1 from 2016 Select could be the pinnicle.

In this episode I talk to James @madcitycollector about this Rooney card that he proudly owns. We also cover Rooney collections and early Panini Select in general.

When I was 18, I made a massive £1,000 bet with a mate that a young Real Madrid goalkeeper named Iker Casillas would reach 125 caps for Spain. Nearly a decade later, that exact bet paid for one of the wildest nights of my life in Las Vegas.

In this episode of Searching for Soccer, I’m diving deep into my personal collection (PC) of the legendary Iker Casillas. We look at his rare 1999 MundiCromo rookie card (and why a high grade is almost impossible to find), tough 2004 Mega Cracks inserts, and how you can build an incredible, high-grade collection of a top-tier football legend without spending thousands of pounds.

Plus, with Messi scoring a hat-trick and Mbappé putting on a masterclass, we jump into a debate: Who is truly the greatest World Cup performer of all time? From Pelé’s 3 trophies and Maradona dragging Argentina to the trophy in '86, to R9 and Miroslav Klose, we break down the ultimate tournament legacies.

In this episode I am joined by @madcitycollector to discuss his 2018 Lionel Messi National Landmarks Mojo /20 and what makes the National Landmarks insert so good.

Would you prefer Ronaldo’s rookie sticker, or a unique rare piece from the peak of his career with a fascinating story behind it? Today, I’m joined by Kev (AKA Fora) to look at his Ronaldo 1997 Panini Super Craques sticker fresh back from grading that captures a unique moment in the career of the great Ronaldo Nazario.

We’re breaking down a the sticker that features a name you wouldn't expect to see on an R9 item: Ronaldinho. We talk about why that nickname existed in the Brazilian media, why it was eventually scrapped, and how Kev managed to disrupt the PSA pop report with a "Pop 1, none higher" grade.
