The shadow of the Feminine “flow” and re- committing back to your dreams Have you ever noticed yourself:
- Falling into victimhood (“poor me”)
- Questioning “why me”?
- Saying "I'm overwhelmed" or "I'm burnt out"
- Thinking “I can’t do…”
- Struggling to commit or re- commit to your dreams?
This episode looks at a particular shadow theme of the Feminine: lethargy, or laziness. It can show up as a clinging to a victim story, falling into victimhood. In our nervous system, it can appear as a freeze state, what’s known as dorsal vagal shutdown, from Stephen Porges’s Polyvagal theory. In this state, we often feel tired, numb and disconnected from the world around us. It may show up as lack of ability to act or commit to anything; justified that we’re honouring our freedom to be in “flow”.
We may be in this state for a long time, often getting physically sick or exhausted as a result. What we fail to recognise is that this is a
story we are choosing to believe. In my next episode I'll share my practice around shaking (literally) myself out of this state.
Much love,
Micha
