The Laurel County Public Library celebrates two important milestones in 2025.

First, 110 years ago, in 1915, was the year the library was founded.

Second, 100 years ago, in 1925, the Laurel County Public Library became the Laurel County FREE Public Library, meaning patrons were no longer required to have a paid membership to borrow items from the library.
