Lynne DeSousa, MTSS Specialist and PBIS Coordinator for the Colorado Department of Education, shares the importance of "getting back to basics". Current school safety initiatives  to prevent school violence has led to a re-emphasis on the foundational pieces of several educational initiatives, namely PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), RtI (Response to Intervention), and MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports).
