On Friday night, I decided to attend a high school football game in my neighborhood. By the second half, I made a few friends who were fathers of players sitting outside of the gate in lawn chairs.

One of the dads was adamant that the team's inability to score was due to the fact that the starters were all sons of the coaches.

After a bout 20 minutes of his complaints, I found myself deeply annoyed.

The doors were closed out of fear. The disciples were crippled by their inability to control what was next.

Jesus uses the text to teach us that he doesn’t need an open door to appear in order for his will to be accomplished.

Rest assured that with Jesus, the door is obsolete!
